Hi there! Welcome to my blog.

The best words I can use to describe myself would be: curious, moody, thoughtful and a couch potato who likes to read, listen, travel and write. I have long been intrigued with geography and world culture , and that led me to pursue my further studies in Finland. This step alone has opened doors to my many endeavors. The blog is mostly a journal about my travel experiences – mostly budget travels, culture differences with my native country and everyday life here in Europe. The photos I use on the blog are mine. I appreciate the bittersweet of life and try to find positives in things. Currently based in Poland, from the mystical land of  Nepal.

Update [October, 2016 and March, 2017]

I’ve a new found love for cooking, or more like eating good food, traveling to countrysides and small towns, crystal clear blue seas and colorful autumns in this part of the world. Like many 20 somethings, I am also in the process of figuring it all out but I am very much enjoying the process! 1.5 years of entering the ‘real world’, as in holding a full-time job, has taught me a thing or two about life, people, relationships and finances. I’ve started to slowly understand Polish humor and enjoy the taste of ogorki kiszone (pickled cucumbers) after almost 3 years of living in Poland! Traveling is one of my main interests. I also really enjoy the months of planning, research and reading leading to the actual travel. Traveling while working full-time is not easy, so I am trying to make the most of my annual free days and weekends. You’ll find that I remember all public holidays of the year and have trips booked 6 months in advance. There are many places that are on my bucket lists but to spare you from boredom, I will instead list the activities that I would really like to do in the near future:

  • Hot air balloon ride. Maybe somewhere romantic and famous like Cappadocia, Turkey? I can dream, can’t I 😉
  • S̶c̶u̶b̶a̶ ̶d̶i̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ : First experience in the Philippines, Feb 2017
  • S̶n̶o̶r̶k̶e̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ Diving in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
  • C̶a̶m̶p̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶e̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶w̶a̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶u̶p̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶u̶n̶r̶i̶s̶e̶ ̶o̶v̶e̶r̶ ̶w̶a̶t̶e̶r̶.̶ Wasn’t as serene as I thought it’d be. Done in Port Barton Philippines, March 2017.
  • Hiking/trekking Nepal’s amazing mountains.
  • Floating on the Dead Sea.
  • Sailing around the Mediterranean. And I don’t know how to sail yet.
  • Road trip across some Southern states in the US.

  3. I admit that I am a wanderlust type of person, therefore travelling the world is and will always remain one of my greatest passions. Each adventure makes me spritually richer and more aware of the uniqueness this world truly holds. I am certain I will enjoy your blog and beautiful stories!

  4. Greetings, Pooja. I have just discovered that I am not getting any notifications at all from WordPress. I have no idea why and I hope that I haven’t clicked on anything by mistake. To be honest, I have always found WordPress to be unnecessarily complicated even though I love the site. I’m not getting notifications for anybody’s blogs so everybody must be wondering why I am so quiet these days. Pooja, Do you have any idea what I have to check to start getting all the notifications again ? I will also be trying to see here if I can see what’s gone wrong. Best wishes from Dai. I will try to read the blogs I have missed and make late comments. Sorry about all the mess.

    1. Hi Dai.
I thought that you had stopped reading blogs so often, I didn’t know you had problems with WordPress settings.
Usually I just click the “Reader” tab on the top left corner when I am logged in to my WP account. There I see all the current blogs from the authors I have subscribed to. To some of them I have email subscription too, so whenever they post, I get notification on my inbox. The “Reader” tab works just fine for me though. I hope you have figured it all out by now, Dai! 🙂

  5. Hi Pooja. I solved the problem yesterday after a staggering 18 hours of trying. It should be okay now but the strange thing is that I never changed any settings at all so it remains a mystery why it all went wrong. And I hate to confuse the issue but the notification of your above comment still hasn’t arrived in my Yahoo inbox which is very suspicious. I’ll keep waiting for a while in case it’s been delayed somewhere. I did get a notification that you had clicked LIKE but nothing for the comment you made.

    1. Hm now that you’ve mentioned it, maybe there’s something wrong or complicated with the way WordPress email notification works.. I check all updates via my WordPress site and do not rely on email notifications so I wasn’t aware of this problem.

  6. So lovely to meet you…. I appreciate how you are sensitive to culture and focus on the brighter side of life. 😊 Thank you for stopping by my blog. You are very welcome.
    Many blessings,
    Debbie
